3 Counties Tip – Deep Wall Cracks

When working on your own home building construction or decorating projects, wall cracks can be a problem.

A good tip to minimise the reappearance of wall cracks is to rake out the crack to a minimum depth of 15 mm,  6 mm in width and 30 mm either side of the crack, 3 mm deep(, then half fill the crack 3 mm from the surface with ‘polysulphide sealant’ then cover the crack with 50 mm ‘fibre tape’ and plaster over and rub down.  Ready for painting!
